EMC Centera SDK for XAM (eXtensible Access Method) delivers an implementation of the XAM specification. XAM defines a standard access method between applications, management software and storage systems to manage fixed content. And, it allows XAM-enabled applications to interface with XAM-compliant devices.

EMC has taken a leadership role to make XAM an industry standard enabling software vendors and storage vendors to cooperate on setting this new access method standard for interoperability, information assurance, storage transparency, long-term record retention and automation for ILM practices.
